Customer Testimonials

I would like to tell you my story. I have a 1999 Honda CRV.My grandma bought it in 99 as a gift, brand new from Ed Napleton HONDA in St Peters, MO. I was a single mom then (and still am) to a 4 year old little girl that I adopted from Guatemala. I anticipated adopting another child and I wanted a bigger, sturdier car. I had always heard Hondas were good cars and had gone to Ed Napleton thinking I was going to buy a van. I happened across the CRV and immediately realized it was the car for me. Perfect. Safe. Dependable. Roomy. Great Looking. Reasonably priced. Lots of add-ons. I drove it off the lot that night. The first year I had it, I drove it to Michigan and to Ocracoke North Carolina. While in Ocracoke, I drove it onto the beach and all the way down close to the water with all of my gear in it. It was the best car I ever had. It got great gas mileage, drove easily, had plenty of room, and most importantly, as a single mom, I felt very safe in it. In 2001, I adopted a baby boy from Guatemala. I was very happy to have my CRV. It accommodated my growing family beautifully. We had plenty of room. Even with all of the baby gear that we now had to travel with. And I was still very grateful for how safe I felt. I had the oil changed and routine maintenance performed on my CRV as suggested in the owner's manual. I never had any problems with it at all. The years went on. The kids grew, as did the amount of stuff we began to have to carry with us. Toys, sports equipment, bikes, etc. The CRV carried it all. We always had room. The car ran well. I always felt safe. I unfortunately lost my job. I no longer could have routine maintenance performed on my car. I no longer could even afford to have the oil changed. The CRV kept going. And going. And going. It is now December 30, 2008. My CRV is almost 10 years old. And yes. It is still going! It has almost 233,000 miles on it! By all rights, it should not be running at all. Since I have been unemployed a lot, I simply have not had the money to get the car maintained as it should be. I barely get the oil changed. (Maybe once or twice a year) I only get it fixed when something breaks. Over the past couple of years I had to replace the timing belt at a little over 200,000 miles. I had to replace the radiator at over 200,000 miles. I of course have needed tires, brakes, and batteries. But, really as I am sitting here at the moment, I can't think of anything else. I literally drive down the highway every day and thank God for my wonderful Honda. I was in one accident. I had a tire that blew and I went sideways across 4 lanes of traffic and hit the median. I was perfectly fine. A little damage to the CRV on the back side. It is now held together by a little screw (sort of like hip surgery!). The inside of the car has held up amazingly well. The quality of the car is just unbelievable! The upholstery is all perfectly intact... and this is after children! All of the vinyl is still beautiful. I hate to think of the day when I can't drive my CRV any more. It makes me so sad. I sing the praises of Honda to everyone. If anyone is looking for a car, I tell them about my CRV. It is "living" proof of how well made a product is! People know me and know my kids and know how hard I am struggling and know how hard it is to find a job in today's world. They know how much I count on my CRV and they think it is amazing! My greatest desire is that when I can no longer drive my CRV that I will be able to afford to drive another Honda. (The CRVs are still very close to the same price they were 10 years ago!) I guarantee that when I do get a job, I will never drive another make of car. This car has literally been a lifesaver for me. I am sending you this because I know in these tough times, like all of us, car manufacturers are also facing hard times. I just want you to know how much good that your product has done for one family in this world. If it has done this well for me, there must be thousands more like me out there! ---------- Good luck to you and Happy New Year. Denise
